METHOD
STEP 1
Preparation time: 25 minutes
STEP 2
Withdrawal period: 90-105 minutes (rise), 38-40 minutes (oven)
STEP 3
Mix the flour, yeast, hot water, butter and cane sugar in your stand mixer and knead in approximately 8 minutes to a smooth dough. Of course this can also be done by hand, then you are just kneading a little longer. Grease a bowl very lightly with sunflower oil, put the dough here and cover. Late 60 minutes rise in a warm place, it will double in size in that time.
STEP 4
Remove the dough from the bowl, knead briefly and then roll out into a rectangle. Format approx. 40cm x 30cm (slightly smaller). Brush the slice generously with Nutella and spread evenly. At the top release an edge of 3Inches. Then roll up from the bottom upwards and turn the roll vertically. Grab a sharp knife and cut the roll from top to bottom, right in the middle.
STEP 5
Put the two upper ends against each other and roll both 'slides' together like a braid. Press both the top and bottom slightly against each other. Place the bread on a baking tray covered with baking paper and cover with a tea towel. Leave then 30-45 for minutes rising in a warm place. In the meantime, preheat the oven 180 degrees.
STEP 6
Bake the bread 30 minutes in the oven. Then remove from the oven and brush light with lukewarm milk. Turn the temperature up to 200 degrees and bake 8-10 minutes until the top has just become golden brown. Let cool to lukewarm on a rack and then cut off quickly to taste!
STEP 7
Variation tip: Also add some chopped nuts as you lubricate the Nutella and brush with beaten egg before the bread goes into the oven. You won't have to cover up with milk at the end.
