Prepare Springform pan
METHOD
STEP 1
With the batter you're about to make, 2 identical chocolate cakes are baked. They are then stacked with a generous layer of orange jam. I have for these kinds of occasions 2 identical forms of spring in the house (of 23cm) and they fit in the oven at the same time. Of course, you can bake them in a row if you want. 1 springform tin.
STEP 2
Preheat the oven 175 degrees and grease your spring forms.
STEP 3
Strain the flour above a bowl and stir the cane sugar, cocoa powder and baking soda. Then add the beaten eggs, buttermilk, olive oil and vanilla extract. Stir this well with a spoon or use the hand mixer for a minute or 2. The batter doesn't take long.
STEP 4
Divide the batter evenly over your baking forms and slide it into the oven. Bake them 15 minutes on 175 degrees and then let cool outside the oven. When you get the pies 1 before 1 I would shorten the baking time a little. You can bake these cakes the day before. After cooling, keep them in the fridge, well packed in holding foil until you finish the cake.
STEP 5
Lay 1 Chocolate cake on a shelf and brush it all the way with the orange jam. Then gently put the other cake on top of this.
STEP 6
Mix the butter and cocoa powder in a bowl and beat creamy with a hand mixer. Then add the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract and continue knocking. When the icing sugar is completely absorbed and the frosting shines nicely, it is ready. Put your cake all the way in with the frosting. This is best done with a silicone spatula.
STEP 7
Keep the cake until serving in the fridge, but get it there 30 minutes ahead. Cut points with a large knife that first warms you under the tap. That's a good way to cut it.
STEP 8
Tip: Do you want to decorate the cake? Then cut parts of an orange and dip them half into the pure chocolate. Let it harden in the refrigerator and then you can use it as decoration.
